The mxmlDelete function in mxml-node.c in mxml 2.9, 2.7, and possibly earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (stack consumption) via crafted xml file.
The bug was discovered 05/09/2016. The weakness was released 02/03/2017 by Gustavo Grieco (Website). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-4570 since 05/09/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
