A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 and OfficeJet Pro 8710 (the affected version is unknown). This issue affects an unknown code of the component WiFi Direct Printing. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. Impacted is integrity, and availability.
The weakness was presented 02/02/2017 with Neseso as HP Printers Wi-Fi Direct Improper Access Control as not defined mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared at seclists.org.
