The bug was discovered 08/15/2016. The weakness was released 02/17/2017 by John Page (hyp3rlinx) as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-4316 since 04/27/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
