The (1) order and (2) group methods in Zend_Db_Select in the Zend Framework before 1.12.20 might allow remote attackers to conduct SQL injection attacks by leveraging failure to remove comments from an SQL statement before validation.

The bug was discovered 09/15/2016. The weakness was presented 02/17/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at lists.fedoraproject.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-4861 since 05/17/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
