A vulnerability was found in Symantec Encryption Management Server 3.3.0 MP1. It has been declared as problematic. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Web Email Protection component in Symantec Encryption Management Server (formerly Symantec PGP Universal Server) before 3.3.0 MP2 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted encrypted e-mail attachment.
The weakness was presented 07/22/2013 by John Carroll with The Gentleman Hackers Club as SYM13-007 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at symantec.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-4674 since 06/24/2013. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
