A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Netgear DGN2200 up to 10.0.0.50 (Wireless LAN Software). Affected is some unknown functionality of the file ping.cgi. The manipulation of the argument ping_IPAddr with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-78. ping.cgi on NETGEAR DGN2200 devices with firmware through 10.0.0.50 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands via shell metacharacters in the ping_IPAddr field of an HTTP POST request.
The bug was discovered 02/19/2017. The weakness was presented 02/22/2017 as EDB-ID 41394 as not defined exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is available at exploit-db.com.
