A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in FFmpeg up to 1.2 (Multimedia Processing Software). This issue affects the function decode_slice_header of the file libavcodec/h264.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-200. The product exposes sensitive information to an actor that is not explicitly authorized to have access to that information. Impacted is confidentiality, and availability.

The weakness was released 03/30/2013 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Gynvael Coldwind with Google Security Team as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
