A vulnerability was found in Dropbear SSH up to 2016 (SSH Server Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component dbclient. The dbclient in Dropbear SSH before 2016.74 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted (1) -m or (2) -c argument.
The bug was discovered 09/15/2016. The weakness was released 03/03/2017 by Matt Johnston (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-7408 since 09/09/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. The successful exploitation needs a simple authentication.
