Apache OpenOffice.org (OOo) before 4.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) or possibly have unspecified other impact via invalid PLCF data in a DOC document file.
The weakness was disclosed 07/26/2013 by Jeremy Brown with Microsoft Vulnerability Research as CVE-2013-2189 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at openoffice.org. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-2189 since 02/19/2013. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
