The WriteCaffHeader function in cli/caff.c in Wavpack before 5.1.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via a crafted WV file.
The bug was discovered 03/14/2017. The weakness was published 03/14/2017 by Hanno Böck (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-10170 since 01/28/2017. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
