A vulnerability was found in GD Graphics Library up to 2.2.3 (Image Processing Software). It has been rated as problematic. The gdImageCreateFromGd2Ctx function in gd_gd2.c in the GD Graphics Library (aka libgd) before 2.2.4 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted image file.
The bug was discovered 01/28/2017. The weakness was released 03/15/2017 by Salvatore Bonaccorso (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-10167 since 01/28/2017. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
