The base64encode function in base64.c in libimobiledevice libplist 1.12 allows local users to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via a crafted plist file.

The bug was discovered 03/02/2017. The weakness was released 03/15/2017 by zhunki (GitHub Repository). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-6437 since 03/02/2017. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
