The E-book viewer in calibre before 2.75 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a crafted epub file with JavaScript.

The bug was discovered 03/14/2017. The weakness was published 03/16/2017 by Antoine (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-10187 since 01/31/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
