A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in MediaWiki up to 1.23.11/1.24.4/1.25.3/1.26.0 (Content Management System). This vulnerability affects the function User::matchEditToken of the file includes/User.php of the component CSRF Protection. The manipulation of the argument wgArticlePath with an unknown input leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-352. The web application does not, or can not, sufficiently verify whether a well-formed, valid, consistent request was intentionally provided by the user who submitted the request. The User::matchEditToken function in includes/User.php in MediaWiki before 1.23.12, 1.24.x before 1.24.5, 1.25.x before 1.25.4, and 1.26.x before 1.26.1 does not perform token comparison in constant time before determining if a debugging message should be logged, which allows remote attackers to guess the edit token and bypass CSRF protection via a timing attack, a different vulnerability than CVE-2015-8623.
