A vulnerability was found in Jasper up to 1.900.24 (Programming Tool Software). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function jas_seq2d_create of the file jas_seq.c. The jas_seq2d_create function in jas_seq.c in JasPer before 1.900.25 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure) via a crafted file.
The bug was discovered 03/23/2017. The weakness was presented 03/23/2017 by Agostino Sarubbo with Gentoo (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-9395 since 11/17/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
