A vulnerability has been found in HumHub up to 1.0.1 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect integrity.
The weakness was presented 03/17/2017 by Tim Coen with Curesec Research Team as HumHub 1.0.1: XSS as confirmed mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). It is possible to read the advisory at seclists.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-20026. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

Upgrading to version 1.1.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published even before and not after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
