A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Windows up to XP (Operating System). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component TCP/IP Stack. The TCP/IP implementation in Microsoft Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, and Windows RT does not properly perform memory allocation for inbound ICMPv6 packets, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (system hang) via crafted packets, aka "ICMPv6 Vulnerability."
