The advisory is shared at portal.msrc.microsoft.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-0259 since 09/09/2016. The exploitation is known to be difficult. An attack has to be approached locally. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue. The advisory points out:

An information disclosure vulnerability exists when the Windows kernel improperly initializes objects in memory. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could obtain information to further compromise the user’s system. An authenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability by running a specially crafted application. The update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how the Windows kernel initializes objects in memory.

A public exploit has been developed by Google Security Research and been published 6 days after the advisory. The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. We expect the 0-day to have been worth approximately $5k-$25k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 100055 (KB4016871: Windows 10 Version 1703 May 2017 Cumulative Update), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. Applying the patch KB4019215 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at catalog.update.microsoft.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
