The fill_buffer_resample function in util.c in libmp3lame.a in LAME 3.99.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and application crash) via a crafted audio file.
The bug was discovered 06/17/2017. The weakness was released 06/25/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-9100 since 06/25/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
