The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability (De-anonymization). Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-200. The product exposes sensitive information to an actor that is not explicitly authorized to have access to that information. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
Tor 0.3.x before 0.3.0.9 has a guard-selection algorithm that only considers the exit relay (not the exit relay's family), which might allow remote attackers to defeat intended anonymity properties by leveraging the existence of large families.
The bug was discovered 06/29/2017. The weakness was released 07/02/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at blog.torproject.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-0377 since 11/29/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
