In ImageMagick 7.0.6-5, a memory leak vulnerability was found in the function ReadMATImage in coders/mat.c, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted file.
The bug was discovered 08/04/2017. The weakness was disclosed 08/22/2017 by Venustech with Adlab of Venustech (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-13060 since 08/22/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
