The BlackBerry Universal Device Service in BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES) 10.0 through 10.1.2 does not properly restrict access to the JBoss Remote Method Invocation (RMI) interface, which allows remote attackers to upload and execute arbitrary packages via a request to port 1098.
The weakness was published 08/10/2013 by Paul O'Grady with Security Compass as KB35139 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at blackberry.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-3693 since 05/30/2013. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack can only be initiated within the local network.
