A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick 7.0.7-4 Q16 (Image Processing Software). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function FT_Done_Glyph

A use-after-free in RenderFreetype in MagickCore/annotate.c in ImageMagick 7.0.7-4 Q16 allows attackers to crash the application via a crafted font file, because the FT_Done_Glyph function (from FreeType 2) is called at an incorrect place in the ImageMagick code.
The bug was discovered 09/25/2017. The weakness was released 10/03/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-14989 since 10/02/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
