Insufficient Policy Enforcement in Omnibox in Google Chrome prior to 59.0.3071.86 for Windows and Mac allowed a remote attacker to perform domain spoofing via IDN homographs in a crafted domain name.
The bug was discovered 06/05/2017. The weakness was published 10/27/2017 by Andrey Kovalev with Qihoo 360 Vulcan Team (Website). The advisory is shared for download at security.gentoo.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-5086 since 01/02/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
