An issue was discovered in GraphicsMagick 1.3.26. A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was found in the function ReadCINEONImage in coders/cineon.c, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted file.

The bug was discovered 09/30/2017. The weakness was disclosed 03/14/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at hg.graphicsmagick.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-18230 since 03/13/2018. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
