The weakness was presented 03/14/2014 by Geohot as Chrome for Android Update, March 2014 as confirmed changelog entry (Blog). The advisory is shared at gohttp. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-1705 since 01/29/2014. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 06/15/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 73083 (Google Chrome < 33.0.1750.152 Multiple Vulnerabilities (Mac OS X)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family MacOS X Local Security Checks.
