A vulnerability classified as critical was found in TRENDnet TEW-673GRU up to 1.00b40. Affected by this vulnerability is the function start_arpping
of the file apply.cgi. The manipulation of the argument dhcpd_start/dhcpd_end/lan_ipaddr
as part of a POST Request leads to a os command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
TRENDnet TEW-673GRU v1.00b40 devices have an OS command injection vulnerability in the start_arpping function of the timer binary, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via three parameters (dhcpd_start, dhcpd_end, and lan_ipaddr) passed to the apply.cgi binary through a POST request.
