VMware vCloud Director for Service Providers 9.5.x prior to update resolves a Remote Session Hijack vulnerability in the Tenant and Provider Portals. Successful exploitation of this issue may allow a malicious actor to access the Tenant or Provider Portals by impersonating a currently logged in session.

The bug was discovered 03/28/2019. The weakness was published 04/01/2019 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vmware.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-5523 since 01/07/2019. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.

Upgrading to version eliminates this vulnerability.
