A clone version of an ELM327 OBD2 Bluetooth device has a hardcoded PIN, leading to arbitrary commands to an OBD-II bus of a vehicle, as demonstrated by turning off the vehicle's lights.

The weakness was published 07/31/2019. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-12797 since 06/13/2019. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1110.001 for this issue.
