The IFRAME of the WebBrowser control in Internet Explorer 5.01 allows a remote attacker to violate the cross frame security policy via the NavigateComplete2 event.

The issue has been introduced in 06/02/1998. The weakness was disclosed 06/06/2000 by Georgi Guninski (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2000-0503. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 735 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k.

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability.
