Windows 2000 Server allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending a continuous stream of binary zeros to various TCP and UDP ports, which significantly increases the CPU utilization.
The issue has been introduced in 02/17/2000. The weakness was published 06/30/2000 by Mike Murray (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2000-0580. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
