The ixsso.query ActiveX Object is marked as safe for scripting, which allows malicious web site operators to embed a script that remotely determines the existence of files on visiting Windows 2000 systems that have Indexing Services enabled.

The weakness was released 01/09/2001 by Georgi Guninski as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2000-1105. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
