Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and earlier allows malicious website operators to cause a denial of service (client crash) via JavaScript that continually refreshes the window via self.location.
The weakness was published 12/20/2001 as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2001-1219. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
