CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability was found in GeekLog 1.3.5 (Blog Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the file index.php/comment.php. The manipulation of the argument url/topic/title with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The software receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. An attacker might be able to inject arbitrary html and script code into the web site. This would alter the appearance and would make it possible to initiate further attacks against site visitors. CVE summarizes:

Cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in GeekLog 1.3.5 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary script via (1) the url variable in the Link field of a calendar event, (2) the topic parameter in index.php, or (3) the title parameter in comment.php.

The weakness was presented 10/04/2002 by Ahmet Sabri Alper (Website). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2002-0962. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 11670 (Geeklog <= 1.3.7sr1 Multiple Vulnerabilities (SQLi, XSS, Priv Esc)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses and running in the context remote. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 10717 (Geeklog Multiple Cross Site Scripting Vulnerabilities).

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (9310), Vulnerability Center (SBV-2099) and Tenable (11670). See 17993, 17994, 18899 and 21270 for similar entries.
