CRLF injection vulnerability in PHP 4.2.1 through 4.2.3, when allow_url_fopen is enabled, allows remote attackers to modify HTTP headers for outgoing requests by causing CRLF sequences to be injected into arguments that are passed to the (1) fopen or (2) file functions.
The weakness was released 12/31/2002 by Ulf Harnhammar (Website). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2002-1783 since 06/29/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
