A vulnerability was found in Google TensorFlow up to 2.8.3/2.9.2/2.10.0 (Artificial Intelligence Software). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function tf.raw_ops.TensorListConcat

TensorFlow is an open source platform for machine learning. If `tf.raw_ops.TensorListConcat` is given `element_shape=[]`, it results segmentation fault which can be used to trigger a denial of service attack. We have patched the issue in GitHub commit fc33f3dc4c14051a83eec6535b608abe1d355fde. The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.11. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.10.1, 2.9.3, and TensorFlow 2.8.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.
The weakness was shared 11/19/2022 as GHSA-66vq-54fq-6jvv. The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2022-41891 since 09/30/2022. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1499 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
Upgrading to version 2.8.4, 2.9.3, 2.10.1 or 2.11 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch fc33f3dc4c14051a83eec6535b608abe1d355fde is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
