GLPI is a free asset and IT management software package. Starting in version 10.0.0 and prior to version 10.0.7, GLPI inventory endpoint can be used to drive a SQL injection attack. It can also be used to store malicious code that could be used to perform XSS attack. By default, GLPI inventory endpoint requires no authentication. Version 10.0.7 contains a patch for this issue. As a workaround, disable native inventory.

The weakness was presented 04/06/2023 as GHSA-9r84-jpg3-h4m6. It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2023-28849 since 03/24/2023. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.

Upgrading to version 10.0.7 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at github.com.
