A vulnerability was found in Yatsoft Switch Off up to 2.3. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing in the library swnet.dll of the file action.htm. The manipulation of the argument message

Stack-based buffer overflow in swnet.dll in YaSoft Switch Off 2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via a long message parameter in a SendMsg action to action.htm.
The weakness was presented 01/03/2004 by Peter Winter-Smith as not defined posting (Bugtraq). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2004-1793 since 05/04/2005. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
A public exploit has been developed in ANSI C. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:action.htm it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
