Format string vulnerability in ez-ipupdate.c for ez-ipupdate 3.0.10 through 3.0.11b8, when running in daemon mode with certain service types in use, allows remote servers to execute arbitrary code.
The bug was discovered 11/11/2004. The weakness was presented 02/09/2005 by Ulf Harnhammar (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2004-0980 since 10/24/2004. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 07/01/2021).
