A vulnerability was found in Powertech Powerlock Networksecurity 4.7.1 and classified as critical. This issue affects some unknown functionality in the library qsys.lib. Directory traversal vulnerability in the third party tool from Powertech, as used to secure the iSeries AS/400 FTP server, allows remote attackers to access arbitrary files, including those from qsys.lib, via ".." sequences in a GET request.
The weakness was published 04/20/2005 by Shalom Carmel (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at venera.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-1241 since 04/24/2005. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1006 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
