The weakness was disclosed 05/02/2005 by kozan (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2005-0823 since 03/20/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.

A public exploit has been developed by Kozan in ANSI C and been published even before and not after the advisory. The exploit is shared for download at securityfocus.com.
