Internet Communication Manager (aka ICMAN.exe or ICM) in SAP NetWeaver Application Server 6.x and 7.x, possibly only on Windows, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (process crash) via a URI of a certain length that contains a sap-isc-key parameter, related to configuration of a web cache.
The bug was discovered 07/05/2007. The weakness was published 07/06/2007 by Mark Litchfield with NGSSoftware (Website). The advisory is shared at ngssoftware.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2007-3615 since 07/06/2007. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
It is declared as proof-of-concept.
Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at sap.com.
