Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 100070 (Microsoft Internet Explorer Cumulative Security Update (MS09-002)).

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch MS09-002 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at microsoft.com. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 6761.
