with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Multiple directory traversal vulnerabilities in artmedic webdesign weblog 1.0, when magic_quotes_gpc is disabled, allow remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the (1) ta parameter to artmedic_index.php, reached through index.php; and the (2) date parameter to artmedic_print.php.
