A vulnerability has been found in NatterChat 1.12 (Chat Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the file registerDo.asp of the component Error Message Handler. The manipulation of the argument txtRoomName

Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in NatterChat 1.12 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) txtUsername parameter to registerDo.asp, as invoked from register.asp, or (2) txtRoomName parameter to room_new.asp. NOTE: these issues might be resultant from XSS in SQL error messages.
The weakness was disclosed 11/20/2008 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2008-7048 since 08/23/2009. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
