ir32_32.dll 3.24.15.3 in the Indeo32 codec in Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2 and SP3, and Server 2003 SP2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap corruption) or execute arbitrary code via malformed data in a stream in a media file, as demonstrated by an AVI file.
The weakness was published 12/12/2009 by iDefense Labs (TippingPoint) with TippingPoint and the Zero Day Initiative as confirmed bulletin (Technet). Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at microsoft.com. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
