Integer underflow in WebKit in Apple Safari before 5.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.5 through 10.6 and Windows, and before 4.1.3 on Mac OS X 10.4, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via vectors involving WebSockets. NOTE: this may overlap CVE-2010-3254.

The advisory is shared for download at This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-3805. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 50653 (Mac OS X : Apple Safari < 5.0.3 / 4.1.3), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
