MySQL 5.1 before 5.1.51 and 5.5 before 5.5.6 allows remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via multiple invocations of a (1) prepared statement or (2) stored procedure that creates a query with nested JOIN statements.
The weakness was shared 01/14/2011 as Bug 640861 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2010-3839 since 10/07/2010. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. The successful exploitation requires a simple authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
