Heap-based buffer overflow in Apple Type Services (ATS) in Apple Mac OS X before 10.6.8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted embedded TrueType font.
The weakness was disclosed 06/24/2011 by Marc Schoenefeld with Red Hat Security Response Team as HT4723 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-0198 since 12/23/2010. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
