The weakness was presented 09/15/2011 with Zero Day Initiative (Website). The advisory is available at adobe.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-2436 since 06/06/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.

Upgrading to version 9.4.4 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 24087.
